Our picks

Best replacement cables for the Sennheiser IE 600 (and IE 300, IE 900)

The IE 600, IE 300 and IE 900 set their MMCX socket inside a recess, so a standard MMCX plug won’t seat. Every cable below comes with our IE300/600/900 plug, and it’s the connector our customers choose most: 52% of connector choices on our cable orders over the last two years. Our picks: Ethos Ultra for phones and players, Brevity Pro on a budget, Lune as the upgrade, Epsilon with a microphone, Nyx3 for wireless and Aoraki as the flagship.

Good to know

What a new cable does, and doesn’t, change on an IE 600

Sound

The IE 600 has a single dynamic driver with a fairly even impedance, so the cable’s metal barely changes its frequency response. Choose on plugs, length, weight and feel, then on taste.

Null AudioCalculated by Null Audio
Balanced 4.4 mm

Worth it if your player’s 4.4 mm output is stronger and you listen through it: see 4.4 mm vs 3.5 mm.

Questions

Common questions

Will a standard MMCX cable fit my IE 600?

No. The socket sits in a recess and a standard MMCX plug won’t seat. Choose IE300/600/900.

Will a new cable change how my IE 600 sounds?

Very little, by the physics: the IE 600’s single dynamic driver has a fairly even impedance. People still hear and prefer different cables; pick on plugs, comfort and looks first.

Are the IE 300 and IE 900 the same?

Yes for the cable: the IE 200, IE 300, IE 600 and IE 900 all take the IE300/600/900 plug.

Which length should I choose?

1.2 m suits most people. Most of our cables can be ordered from 50 cm to 3 m.
