Popular questions01
Placing, changing and paying for an order.
Open the cable's product page and use Configure your build to choose the connector for your IEM or headphones, the player plug, the length and any extras. The price updates as you go, then check out as usual.
Not sure which connector you need? Use Find My IEM Cable or Find My Headphone Cable, or email sales@null-audio.com.
Often, yes: other lengths, a 6.35 mm plug, interconnects, extensions and other special builds. Email sales@null-audio.com with what you need. We'll confirm it can be made, quote the price and send you a secure payment link.
Contact us within 24 hours of placing your order and we'll do our best. Once an order has shipped, it can't be changed.
Our cables and custom IEMs are made to order. Once production of a custom item has started, it can't be cancelled for change of mind, even if it hasn't shipped yet.
Check your spam or promotions folder first. The confirmation is sent to the email address entered at checkout, and your order number is in its subject line. If you still can't find it, email support@null-audio.com with the name and email you used.
Checkout accepts major credit and debit cards and the express payment options shown for your device and country. For custom quotes we send a secure payment link.
We'll never ask you to send money by bank or PayPal transfer, or to share card details by email.
NASTECH is our parent company, so it's the name on payment pages and card statements.
Our prices are set in US dollars. Use the currency selector to see them in SGD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, JPY, HKD, CNY or CHF at the current exchange rate. The amount shown at checkout is the amount you pay.
Your order confirmation email is your proof of purchase. If you need a PDF invoice, for example with a company name, email support@null-audio.com with your order number.

Lead times, FedEx, tracking and lost parcels.
Most of our cables are made by hand in Singapore after you order. Typical times before your order ships:
Delivery time comes on top. Each product page shows its current lead time, which we update weekly with order volume, and the product page always has the latest figure.
We ship worldwide from Singapore with FedEx, usually FedEx International Priority, which FedEx estimates at 1–3 working days. The services available for your address are shown at checkout. Customs clearance, weather or an unavailable recipient can add time.
In Singapore you can choose studio pickup, SingPost or Lalamove (see below).
Orders of USD 250 or more ship free. Below that, FedEx's live rate is shown at checkout once you enter your address.
For pickup, come during opening hours or book a Tuesday or Saturday appointment.
Yes. We email it when the parcel leaves us, which is when the order ships, not when it's placed. You can also follow it on our tracking page.
Parcels often wait a day or two at customs or a FedEx hub. If tracking hasn't changed for several working days, email support@null-audio.com with your order number and we'll chase FedEx for you.
Check with neighbours, building reception or the mailroom, then contact us right away with your order number. We'll take it up with FedEx.
As soon as we open a loss claim with FedEx, we ship you a replacement. We don't wait for FedEx to finish its investigation. If you'd rather have a full refund, just tell us.
If a parcel comes back to us because it was refused, unclaimed or the address was wrong, the shipping costs are yours. We deduct them from the refund, or ask you to pay shipping again if you'd like it re-sent.
FedEx is our standard. If you need another carrier, ask us before you order. If we can arrange it, it's at your own risk.
Possibly. Import duties and taxes are set by your country and paid by you, the recipient; they aren't included in our prices or shipping. FedEx collects them, usually with a clearance fee of its own. The cart page shows an indicative estimate for many countries once you calculate shipping.
Need documents for customs? We're happy to provide invoices and a purchase confirmation.
US orders ship by FedEx International Priority with duties unpaid. FedEx pays US Customs for you, then collects the duty plus its advancement fee (currently USD 17.50 minimum, or 2.5% of the duty and tax) on delivery or by a bill. You don't need a FedEx account; you can pay online with your tracking number.
Some do. South Korea needs your Personal Customs Clearance Code (PCCC), and Brazil needs your CPF. Add it in the order note at checkout or email it to us with your order number, so the parcel isn't held.
Parcels we send, including repaired items and replacements, are declared at their actual value, as shown on our invoice.
From outside Singapore, declare the parcel under USD 200 and describe what it is, for example "Return for repair", "Silicone ear impressions for custom earphone manufacture" or "In-ear monitors sent for reshell, to be returned to owner".
If a high value is declared, Singapore customs may charge GST. We usually pay it to release the parcel, then ask you to settle it. Customers in Singapore don't need to declare anything.
Yes, eligible standard products can be returned within 14 days of confirmed delivery (based on tracking). The item must be unused, in the condition you received it, in its original packaging and with proof of purchase.
Change-of-mind returns carry a restocking fee of 30% of the item price. Shipping fees, including return shipping, aren't refundable.
This is only about changing your mind. If anything arrives faulty or damaged, it's covered by our warranty.
Yes. Within the 14 days you can exchange an unused cable for a different one with no restocking fee; you pay any price difference and shipping. Email support@null-audio.com first with your order number and the cable you'd like.
Email support@null-audio.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number, your IEM model and a clear photo of its socket. We'll help you find the right connector. If the cable can't be made to fit, you can return it unused; you pay the return shipping.
To avoid this, check Find My IEM Cable or ask us before ordering.
The item price, less the 30% restocking fee and the return shipping. If Singapore charges GST or duty on the returned parcel, that is deducted too.
Approved refunds are processed within 3–5 business days to your original payment method. Card refunds can take another 3–5 business days to appear; PayPal refunds are usually immediate.
Check your account again, then contact your card company and your bank, since refunds can take a while to post. If it's still missing, email support@null-audio.com.
Email support@null-audio.com as soon as possible with your order number and photos of the item, the packaging and the shipping label. We'll put it right.
If it was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you, you'll get a gift card for the value of the return. Otherwise the refund goes to the person who placed the order.
Our products have a 1-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, counted from the day your order is delivered. It covers AAW, Null Audio and Symphonym products, and transfers to a new owner.
Email support@null-audio.com with:
We'll reply with an RMA and return instructions. Please don't send anything before you have them. A different name or email, or no order number, can slow us down a lot.
Shipping both ways is paid by you, under warranty too.
Pack it securely and send only the faulty item, with a note describing the problem. For an IEM, always send both sides. Send its cable as well only if we ask, for example for a loose socket or sound cutting in and out.
Cable repairs usually take about 1 week after the cable reaches us (a plug change 3–5 working days), and at most 4 weeks. IEM repairs are completed within 4 weeks of arrival. Return shipping time comes on top.
Usually we repair, so we need the faulty cable back to assess it. Cables that arrive dead on arrival are replaced. A repair may shorten the cable slightly to remove the damaged section, and a repaired cable won't look brand new.
Yes. For products bought within the last 3 years:
Older products are quoted case by case. We may decline a repair if parts are no longer available.
If the same fault comes back within 30 days of your repaired item being delivered, we fix it again free.
Yes. A plug or connector change on a Null Audio cable is USD 50 per cable, plus any price difference for the new plug or pins and shipping both ways. Re-terminating both ends is USD 50; new ear hooks plus re-termination is USD 70.
Cables: we don't repair other brands' cables, but after seeing photos we can often change the plug or connector, for about USD 50 per cable plus parts. That work has no warranty.
IEMs: yes, we can reshell other brands' IEMs and fix most common damage. Email us the model and the problem for a quote.
Usually, yes: a single side is half the model's retail price, plus shipping. For a custom IEM we need your original ear impressions or scan. Spare ear tips are available too. Email support@null-audio.com with the model.

Connectors, plugs, lengths and microphones.
Use Find My IEM Cable (over 400 IEMs) or Find My Headphone Cable. Pick your model and we show the connector to choose. Our connector guide explains 2-pin, MMCX, IPX, A2DC and the rest. Still unsure? Email sales@null-audio.com with your model or a photo of the socket.
Choose the plug that matches the socket on your player, DAC or amp: 3.5 mm for a standard headphone socket, 4.4 mm or 2.5 mm balanced for a balanced output, or USB-C / Lightning to plug straight into a phone or computer. See Choosing the player plug.
Need a 6.35 mm plug? We can fit a ViaBlue 6.35 mm plug for USD 30, or include a 3.5 → 6.35 mm adapter on request.
The standard length is 1.2 m. The configurator offers 1.5, 1.8, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 m on most cables; Brevity Pro, Ethos Ultra and Nyx3 come in one length. For another length, email sales@null-audio.com for a quote.
Yes, on Ethos (not Ethos Ultra), Arete, Epsilon and Lune. Add the iOS/Android microphone (+USD 20), then pick a plug: 3.5 mm 4-pole (included), USB-C with ALC5686 DAC (+USD 20), USB-C with ESS9280C DAC (+USD 75) or Lightning (+USD 20). The mic can't be combined with balanced plugs.
A microphone can't be added to a cable that's already made.
Yes. Choose a USB-C plug with a built-in DAC (ALC5686, or ESS9280C for higher output), or a Lightning plug for older iPhones. Ethos Ultra comes with interchangeable 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm and USB-C plugs, and its DAC can be tuned with our PEQ Studio.
Yes, the Nyx3 Bluetooth cable with a Qualcomm QCC5181 chip. It's in stock and ships in 1–3 days. See its product page for connectors and specs.
Yes. We build the current generation, with NL5 Gunmetal hardware: Arete MKVI, Ethos MKVII, Lune MKIX, Tiburon, Hakone and Thera MKV, Aoraki MKIV and Istana MKII. Some product pages still show the previous names while we update them. If you chose an NL4 plug, you'll receive its NL5 successor, and we'll let you know before shipping.
A cable is a wear item. Our warranty covers defects for a year, and we repair it after that.

Ordering, ear impressions, fit and reshells.
Step by step: How to order custom IEMs.
Yes, at our studio for SGD 50. It takes 10–20 minutes and is by appointment: WhatsApp +65 8731 5476 or email sales@null-audio.com. Please clean your ears beforehand.
A 3D scan is easiest, since nothing has to be posted. Email STL files to support@null-audio.com with your order number. Scans can come from impressions taken by an audiologist or from a direct ear-canal scan. We need one file per ear, named left and right, going past the second bend of the canal and including the whole concha, taken with the mouth open (bite block). Keep the physical impressions until we confirm the files work.
Physical impressions can be posted too: full-shell, open-mouth, past the second bend, labelled left and right, untrimmed, in a crush-proof box with a copy of your order confirmation. Ship them tracked to our studio, Attn: Lab Team, declared under USD 200.
About 4 weeks from the day we receive your ear impressions or scan. Noise Guard earplugs take 4–5 weeks (6–8 weeks around Chinese New Year). Shipping time comes on top.
Our rush service makes custom IEMs and reshells in about 2 weeks for USD 150 (SGD 200 in Singapore), on top of the IEM price. The 2 weeks start when your impressions arrive or when you ask for the rush, whichever is later.
Email sales@null-audio.com before paying so we can confirm a slot. The rush fee is non-refundable and not available over Chinese New Year; reshells that add drivers or change the tuning can't be rushed.
Almost everything is included in the price: standard shell, tip and faceplate colours, Atelier faceplates, logo, your own artwork, engraving, socket and plug. Only the SE01–SE05 special shell or ear-tip colours add USD 35 per side.
Every custom IEM comes with a Null Audio cable, and you can upgrade to a higher-tier cable when you order (you pay the difference). Our customs use recessed 0.78 mm 2-pin sockets.
MMCX sockets are available free on request, but MMCX sockets and connectors aren't covered by the warranty, and an MMCX repair costs USD 100.
Tell us within 30 days of delivery and we refit them free. If the first refit improves the fit but it's not quite there, a second one is free too. Overseas customers pay the shipping.
After 30 days a refit costs SGD 50; refitting a reshell costs USD 35 each time.
Custom IEMs are made for your ears only, so they can't be returned for change of mind, and once production has started the order can't be cancelled. Fit issues are covered by our refit guarantee and defects by the 1-year warranty.
We 3D-scan impressions when they arrive. Digital files from orders since 2020 are kept, so a remake or a new order can usually reuse them. Physical silicone impressions can be reused for about 6 months.
We move the drivers of your universal or custom IEMs into new custom shells made from your ear impressions. Per pair, by drivers per side:
Includes a cable, cleaning tools, a pouch, the 30-day refit guarantee and a 1-year warranty (excluding the original drivers). It takes 6–8 weeks from when we receive your impressions; complex reshells such as 64 Audio, JH Audio, Empire Ears or qdc take 8–10 weeks. Order on the reshell service page.
Most IEMs built on balanced-armature drivers can. IEMs with dynamic, electrostatic, planar or bone-conduction drivers can be reshelled at your own risk, because opening the shell can damage those drivers. If you're unsure, email us the model before sending it.
Keeping special sockets: a JH 4-pin socket or 64 Audio APEX module USD 110, an IPX or T2 socket USD 30, a qdc switch USD 150.
Yes, with our ownership transfer: we reshell any AAW universal or custom IEM into a custom for your ears, for USD 150, whatever its age, as long as it still plays (Nebula 1, Nebula 2 and Q excepted). Design options cost the same as on a new custom. If it needs repair, USD 110 is added. It carries a 3-month warranty on the shell and socket.
Yes. Send us any AAW universal or custom IEM, working or not, and get 25% off a new AAW IEM, up to SGD 400 (about USD 313). See the AAW trade-in programme.
