Our picks

Best IEM cables under USD 100 and USD 200

Our picks are Ethos Ultra (USD 89) under USD 100 and Lune (USD 149) under USD 200. Ethos Ultra comes with 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm and USB-C DAC plugs, so one cable works with a phone, a laptop and a player. Lune is the cable our customers choose most in its price band. Both are our own cables: this page compares the Null Audio range, so you can see what each price buys.

Why Ethos Ultra

Three plugs in the box, so you don’t have to choose between a phone, a laptop and a 4.4 mm player; the USB-C DAC plug’s EQ can be tuned in PEQ Studio. A coaxial build with a 5N single-crystal copper core.

Choosing

What more money buys, and what it doesn’t

  • Fit comes first: every cable here is built with the connector for your IEM. Check yours in Find My IEM Cable.
  • Plugs and features: a USB-C DAC, a microphone or several plugs often matter more day to day than the conductor.
  • Conductor and build: higher tiers use purer copper, silver alloys and heavier braids. Thicker wire has slightly less resistance; the metal itself changes the response very little. See 4.4 mm vs 3.5 mm for what does.

Questions

Common questions

Is a USD 50 cable worth it over the stock cable?

If the stock cable has failed, is too short or has the wrong plug, yes. Brevity Pro is our replacement at USD 49.

Do cheap cables break sooner?

Cables mostly fail at the plugs and connectors, so build quality there matters more than the price tag. Every Null Audio cable is built by hand in Singapore and has a 1-year warranty.

Which one for gaming?

Choose a cable with the microphone option: Ethos, Arete, Epsilon or Lune.
