Platform

Qualcomm QCC5181 Inside

Nyx3 runs on Qualcomm’s QCC5181, the flagship of its S5 Gen 2 audio platform. Two Kalimba audio DSP cores (up to 240 MHz) and a separate application processor handle decoding, calls and power at the same time.

It is qualified to Bluetooth 5.4 and stays backward compatible with older phones, tablets and players.

Hi-Res, Up to Lossless

Codecs

Hi-Res, Up to Lossless

LDAC and aptX Adaptive both stream at up to 24-bit / 96 kHz, and aptX Adaptive adjusts to the connection, so music stays smooth when the air gets busy. On phones with Snapdragon Sound, aptX Lossless carries CD-quality 44.1 kHz audio without compression.

aptX HD, aptX, AAC for iPhone and SBC are all supported, so every source plays at its best.

Ready for LE Audio

Next-Generation Bluetooth

Ready for LE Audio

QCC5181 adds Bluetooth LE Audio: efficient LC3 streaming and a low-latency gaming mode, ready for the next generation of phones and tablets. With older devices, Nyx3 uses classic Bluetooth as usual.

Calls That Sound Like You

Voice

Calls That Sound Like You

Qualcomm cVc echo cancellation and noise suppression clean up your voice on calls. The in-line remote handles volume, track skip, playback, calls and your voice assistant without reaching for your phone.

Comfort

Light Enough to Forget

At 15 g with pre-formed ear hooks, Nyx3 sits comfortably through a full day. Up to 20 hours of playback per charge and up to 25 m of range take it from the commute to the studio.

    Quality Cable

Needed a replacement Bluetooth cable for when I use my IEMs during my marathon mowing sessions 😂 This one got great reviews and lasts 4 times as long as my last one. Very happy with it!

    Works well

The cable works great. I use it when I work out with my IEM’s in. I like it a lot. The only suggestion I would make is for it to tell you the percentage of battery life left. That’s it. Everything else is perfect.

    Works well with 64audio A18s!

Great sound quality extending the usability of my A18s CIEMs! Suggestions for improvement would be for a manual to be included with the item, better way to indicate successful Bluetooth connection and if possible for connection with multiple devices. Nevertheless still a 5-star item for the quality!

Almost the perfect cable for my UE Premier…

Excellent sound delivery, long battery life… BUT the cable is either too short or too long! That’s the only reason I’m holding off the extra star. I made some adjustments to make it work, though. But I do love these, I be so I hope the next iterations will correct this minor shortcoming.

Nyx+ BT5.1 a must have!

This is a great plug and play Bluetooth IEM cable that works well with my Project 4+2 monitors and my A3H+ Lux CIEMs

This Bluetooth rig has the updated codecs which provided clear and enjoyable audio

. Battery life is stellar and the quick charging is an added plus. These Nyx+ BT5.1s loop behind the neck and are very light in weight.
Some have complained about the cable length being too short, I find it to be just the right length. The vol/track control are within reach and the device is easy to conceal within your collar.

* CON
The devices on board voice announcements ie. letting you know power on/power off/connected. It's hard to tell what she is saying or even what language she is speaking.
Perhaps a software update can fix that.
*CON
This Bluetooth rig is horrible for phone calls.
The person on the other end says that it is difficult to hear me and. It sounds like I'm talking in a tunnel. On my end the call sounds muffled.
I don't know where the mic is located but it needs to be repositioned and updated. Also add a little more power to the built-in Amp.

Other than the CONS, I am pleased with my purchase and recommend these as an addition for your IEMs.for music.

Nice Gear! freedom of wireless.

Replacement from Capri cable with DAC.
Capri is also nice cable with superb DAC, but unfortunately connection tends to be cut while moving. so I tried wireless NYX BT5 cable.
Then everything has changed, I enjoy freedom of wireless world with my favorite UE900s in ear phone. I only tested apple lossless coding but it sounds as same as before, plus no connection stop.
I’m very happy to meet with Nyx BT5.

Just a gentle feedback, I prefer a little more longer cable installed perhaps by 5 cm longer for each, so that I could freely turn my neck in MRT or everywhere.
Thank you!! masanori

Good audio, can still be improved

I bought this for my IEMs because I could not find a USB-C dongle without connectivity issues. The audio quality on this is good but I have a few criticisms.

1. The USB-C implementation is weird. I can only charge it using a USB-A to USB-C cable. Using USB-C to USB-C on a computer/USB-PD charger will not charge the device.

2. The volume levels are discretized in steps of 5. Even if I use an app to enable single steps on my phone, the volume will not change until you reach units of 5. So most of the time, my audio is either a little too quiet or a little too loud.

3. The low battery notification is too persistent. Getting a notification once or twice is fine but I do not need to be constantly reminded when I'm outside and away from a charger.

Good wireless listening quality, but nowhere near that of cabled options

I’ve purchased a couple of cables from Null Audio previously, and have never been disappointed - the quality of their products, especially considering their affordability (as compared to competitors such as Double Helix, etc.) is phenomenal. It hence intrigued me to no end when I discovered that they now offer wireless options for CIEMs.

The wireless cables are well constructed, and easy to use. The audio quality delivered from the cables is also perfectly acceptable considering that this is, at its core, a workaround solution to make CIEMs a lot more user friendly. There is nothing to complain about, but also nothing to shout about. The wireless option does not drive CIEMs as well as its wired counterparts, and this results in the presentation delivered being a tad recessed, and slightly lacking in the crispness I have come to expect, having been pampered by Null’s other cables.

With that said, buyers should note that this is, and has never been touted as, a wireless replacement for proper earphone cables. For its price, build quality, and ease of use, this is an excellent product by all measures; and certain continues a long lineage of excellence from a brand that I have come to trust. If this is only the start of the brand’s foray into the wireless market, I’m already excited for what they can deliver in the future.

Nyx BT5 Wireless In-Ear Monitor Cable (mmcx connector)

Been using this with my Tin Hifi P1 so far I've been really impressed at what I'm hearing. I do own a few bluetooth headsets (B&O H4, Drop Panda THX, Jabra Move) and bluetooth earphones ( the best of which was the Sony WF-1000XM3, which I considered to be one of the best bluetooth earphones (the Drop Panda THX is the best sounding bluetooth headphones I have). This pairing of the BT5 with Tin P1 excels at delivering a better soundstage and musicality than the Sonys. the only caveat is that it is not a true wireless set as the adapter goes around your neck. It's a very impressive achievement. Highly Recommended for those of you who have good pair of IEMs lying around and want a more superior sound than what you get with true wireless earphones to date.

Faulty Cable after 4 weeks.

Up until the right ear started glitching with a loose wire into the unit I would have given this 5 stars and an overwhelmingly positive review.
I use the headset with great care. My last set lasted 4 years of very heavy use so was very surprised that after light use the right side keeps cutting off. If you hold the wire at the controls a certain way it returns.
I hope that the customer service is proves to be a satisfying experience and I can get this unit replaced.
The functionality of the product when working was very good.
Just needs to last more than 4 weeks.

Seems to work fine but poor customer service

Received these for my UE Live IEMs. No instructions, a clearly used case, and several emails to customer service with no response. After multiple guesses I was able to figure out how to connect them to my iPhone. If you can’t have quality control and good customer support for your product then don’t sell it.

Great for UE COMM

I was really impressed with this product. I used the IEM adapter with IPX fittings to convert my UE COMM into Bluetooth and the experience has been great. The Bluetooth itself works great, battery seems to last forever, the mic on the Bluetooth part works great for calls, and overall I’m satisfied!

The only thing I didn’t like is how the Bluetooth hangs down. IEMs are designed to have the cable run down your back, but to use the mic, you have to wear the cable down the front, which works great, but looks dumb. This isn’t really an issue with the product, but if Null Audio could find a solution to this, it would be game changing!

The only other thing that was a slide annoyance is the last of tightening the cable behind the ears. IEMs have a way to tighten the cable it runs down your back which helps keep things in place, and the tension if comfortable. Because this cable doesn’t run down the back, it can feel a bit “loose” on the ears.

Again, 2 very minor complaints, and overall a great product and great value for the money!

Impractical product

A lot of reviews mentioned the shortness of the cable and I can confirm this is a real issue, even for people with slim bodyframe. The device is pretty much unusable! Sad, because everything else works perfectly and designing the cable longer would be the most banal fix. 100$ blown out the window

Thank you so much for your feedback, we are aware of the length issue and will work out a solution to increase it.

Questions

Good to know

Which phones play lossless?

aptX Lossless needs a phone with Snapdragon Sound and aptX Lossless support. Many other Android phones use LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD or aptX, and iPhone uses AAC; Nyx3 uses the best codec your phone offers.

Does it work with iPhone?

Yes. iPhone connects over AAC, with full in-line remote and call support. aptX codecs are not available on iPhone.

Will it fit my earphones?

Choose your earphone connector in the configurator above: 2PIN is the default, and MMCX, Sennheiser IE300/600/900, IPX, A2DC, Etymotic, FitEar, Sony, Ultimate Ears, KZ C-pin 0.75 mm 2PIN and KZ/64 Audio flat 0.75 mm 2PIN connectors are available.

Find the right connector for your earphones

What is LE Audio?

LE Audio is the newer Bluetooth audio standard, with the efficient LC3 codec and lower latency. It needs a phone or tablet that supports it; with older devices Nyx3 uses classic Bluetooth as usual.

How should I charge it?

Turn Nyx3 off, then charge with the included USB-C cable from a computer or a charger rated 10 W or less, for example 5 V / 1 A. High-power fast chargers can damage the battery. A full charge takes about 2 hours: the light is red while charging and blue when full.

How do I pair it and use the controls?

The first time you turn it on, Nyx3 goes into pairing mode by itself (the red and blue lights flash in turn). Choose Nyx3 in your phone’s Bluetooth settings. Every button and light is explained in the manual.

Download the Nyx3 manual (PDF)

How long does the battery last?

Up to 20 hours of playback per charge, depending on codec and volume.

What is the return policy?

Standard builds can be returned within 14 days of confirmed delivery if unused and in their original packaging. Change-of-mind returns carry a 30% restocking fee, and shipping is not refunded.

Custom spec, length or connector builds cannot be returned for a change of mind once production starts. Faults are a different matter: every cable has a 1-year warranty, so contact support@null-audio.com and we will assess it.
