What you can audition
An audition is a listening session before you buy. For AAW custom IEMs, we keep universal-fit demo units at the studio, so you can hear the tuning before you commit to a custom pair. Tell us which models interest you when you book, and we will check what is on demo that day.
Universal or custom: which should you buy?
A universal IEM is an in-ear monitor with one shell shape for everyone. It seals with foam or silicone ear tips, and universal IEMs usually come with several tip sizes (Wikipedia). A custom IEM is moulded to your own ears from impressions or a 3D scan.
All our IEMs are made by AAW (Advanced AcousticWerkes), our sister brand. Browse the universal IEM collection and the custom IEM collection.

Nine AAW models come in both forms, from the 2-driver M20 to the 14-driver Canary Pro. A few, such as the 18-driver Mokara and 16-driver Black Malus, are universal only.
| Universal IEM | Custom IEM | |
|---|---|---|
| Fit | Ear tips, one shell shape | Shell moulded to your ears |
| What you need first | Nothing; try a demo unit | Ear impressions (SGD 50 at the studio) or a 3D scan |
| Shipping | Ready stock, usually 2–3 working days | Built to order; lead time on each product page |
| Change-of-mind returns | Within 14 days, 30% restocking fee | Not accepted; made for your ears only |
| Cable socket | 0.78 mm 2-pin (flat or recessed by model) | Recessed 0.78 mm 2-pin |

Custom IEM in Singapore: ear impressions
An ear impression is a soft mould of your ear canal and outer ear. AAW builds your shells from it. We take impressions at the studio for SGD 50, by appointment, and it takes 10–20 minutes.
Impressions are taken with the mouth open, so the fit holds when you talk or sing. Clean your ears before the appointment for the best result. If the fit isn't right, refits are free within 30 days of delivery.
The step-by-step process is in our Custom IEM Singapore guide and on the custom IEM hub. Already own an IEM you like? The IEM reshell guide explains how AAW can move it into a custom shell.
Fit also matters for your hearing. The World Health Organization advises well-fitted earphones and keeping the volume below 60% of maximum (WHO). A good seal blocks outside noise, so you don't need to turn up the volume on a noisy MRT ride.
Which cable should you pair with your IEM?
Every Null Audio cable is built by hand in Singapore, to order, with the connector and plug you choose. The standard length is 1.2 m. Contact us for a custom length.
Start with the connector
The connector is the plug that goes into the IEM. AAW IEMs use 0.78 mm 2-pin sockets, and our "2PIN (0.78)" option fits both flat and recessed sockets. See cables for AAW for each model. For other brands, look up your IEM in Find My Cable, which covers 400+ models.
Then choose the cable
- Brevity Pro: four 26 AWG 5N copper wires with a slim 3.5 mm plug that fits most phone cases. The default 2-pin version ships within 2 working days.
- Ethos Ultra: a coaxial cable with a detachable player end; 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm balanced and USB-C DAC plugs all come in the box.
- Epsilon MKIII: UPOCC copper, 504 strands per cable, tuned by AAW engineers for sensitive IEMs.
- Lune MKVIII: a silver/copper alloy with 212 strands per cable, and a Null Audio best-seller for 15 consecutive years.
Browse the full range in our IEM and headphone cable collection. Our buying checklist, How to choose an earphone cable, walks through conductor, length and budget.
Will it work with your phone or player?
The player plug is the end that goes into your phone, DAC or player. Our options include 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm, 4-pin XLR, Lightning and a USB-C DAC.

iPhone 15 and later models have a USB-C connector (Apple). If your phone has no headphone jack, a USB-C DAC plug or a dongle is the simplest route. Read IEMs with your phone for the trade-offs.
A 4.4 mm balanced plug suits players and dongles with a 4.4 mm output. Balanced means each channel has its own return wire. Our guide 3.5 mm, 2.5 mm or 4.4 mm balanced? explains which to pick, and the player plugs page shows each option.

What if something breaks?
A warranty is the maker's promise to fix defects. Ours covers defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year on AAW, Null Audio and Symphonym products, and it is transferable.
Making a claim in Singapore
Email support@null-audio.com to request an RMA, with your order number and a few photos. Once we reply, you can drop the item off at the studio instead of shipping it. Repairs are usually done within 4 weeks of arrival.
After the warranty
- Null Audio cables bought within 3 years: flat-rate repair of USD 30 for Lune, Arete, Ethos, Aoraki, Epsilon, Hakone, Istana, Moebius, Thera and Tiburon.
- Symphonym series: USD 50. Capri and Brevity are not covered by flat-rate repair.
- AAW universal or custom IEMs: USD 110 for cracked shells, damaged sockets, damaged drivers and blocked nozzles.
We can fix intermittent signal and damaged connectors, but not cut cables or corrosion. For other brands, contact us about servicing. See the warranty page, and read How to make your IEM cable last to avoid repairs in the first place.
