USB-C IEM cables with a built-in DAC

Plug your IEMs straight into a USB-C phone, tablet or laptop, with no dongle. Ethos Ultra comes with a USB-C DAC plug, a 3.5 mm plug and a 4.4 mm balanced plug in the box, from USD 89. Every other cable below can be built with a USB-C DAC plug (ALC5686 or ESS9280C chip), or a Lightning plug for older iPhones. Handmade to order in Singapore and shipped worldwide with FedEx (free from USD 250).

How to order

  1. Pick a cable from the list above.
  2. Under Headphone connection, choose the connector for your IEMs; see IEM connectors explained or Find my IEM.
  3. Choose USB-C (ALC5686 or ESS9280C) or Lightning as the player plug, or order Ethos Ultra to get USB-C, 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm.
  4. Want a microphone? Lune, Arete, Ethos and Epsilon offer one; ask us which plugs it can be combined with.

Common questions

Why a DAC in the cable instead of a dongle?

It’s tidier: one cable, nothing hanging off your phone. A dongle is more flexible if you already own several cables. IEMs with your phone compares the two, and Bluetooth.

Does it work with an iPhone?

iPhone 15 and later use USB-C, so choose the USB-C DAC plug. iPhone 5 to iPhone 14 use Lightning, so choose the Lightning plug.

ALC5686 or ESS9280C?

Both are DAC chips built into the USB-C plug. Not sure which suits your IEMs? Ask us.
