Sony’s detachable-cable headphones take 3.5 mm plugs. The MDR-Z1R, MDR-Z7 and MDR-Z7M2 take one on each cup: choose Dual 3.5 mm. The MDR-1A, MDR-M1ST, MDR-MV1 and MDR-M1 take one plug on one cup: choose Single 3.5 mm. Then choose the plug for your amp or player: 4.4 mm or 4-pin XLR for balanced, 3.5 mm or 6.35 mm for a standard output. Every cable is handmade to order in Singapore and ships worldwide with FedEx.

Can I run the MDR-Z1R or MDR-Z7 balanced?

Yes. Each cup has its own connector, so a balanced cable just needs a balanced plug: choose 4.4 mm or 4-pin XLR.
