AAW x Custom Art Project 4+2 Hybrid In-Ear Monitor is a universal-fit in-ear monitor from AAW (Advanced AcousticWerkes), worn with standard ear tips. It has detachable 0.78 mm 2-pin sockets, so it takes our 2-pin upgrade cables.
AAW and Custom Art teamed up in this unprecedented collaboration to design a never-seen-before hybrid architecture featuring FIBAE technology to bring flat impedance and phasing to an isobaric dynamic driver-based system. Furthermore, 4+2 utilizes advanced Nozzle-less Open Vented Armature (NOVATM) Driver coupled with 3 mid-range balanced armature drivers housed in a digitally designed acoustic chamber.
Flat Impedance Balanced Armature Earphone (FIBAE™) technology is the world's first, revolutionary, In-Ear Monitor design providing flat impedance and phase. By changing Balanced Armature driver character from inductive to resistive Custom Art solved one of the oldest problems in the industry – dependence on output impedance of sound source for correct earphone output. With FIBAE™ technology your earphones will always perform best from any DAP.
In this hybrid structure, we choose to use a specially designed armature driver with an open front acoustic vent and embedded it deep into the 4+2's 3d printed nozzle. The proximity to the user eardrum eliminates sound pressure decay and any unwanted resonance in a typical tubed balanced armature design.
The 8mm dual isobaric woofer is equipped with dual diaphragms and high strength neodymium magnets. The isobaric design offers reduction in low range THD and higher sound pressure output in comparison to typical dynamic woofers. By further utilizing acoustic filtering technique, it is to only function in minimal overlapping frequency range as opposed to the balanced armature drivers. It pushes the bass performance to a new level in the 4+2 while not overpowering the rest of the spectrum.
By regulating the amount of air supplied to the dynamic woofer, the BassFlow Control is able to quantitatively and qualitatively dictate texture and response of the bass frequency. The bass can be adjusted to fit the listener’s preference, from the bass-heavy to mid-forward.
With wholly digitized design process, 4+2 employs AAW 2nd generation digital enclosure and acoustic chamber design. Driver and nozzle placements are simulated hundreds of iterations to determine the ideal phasing and response. It is then 3D printed to precision to maintain consistency in mass production.
4+2 is tuned with a vigorous and lively sound signature in mind, it offers a natural but hard-hitting sub-bass, which you will never find in a full balanced armature setup. FIBAE mid-woofer driver delivers smooth and precise mids. The dedicated NOVATM driver offers crystal clear details in the upper mid and high range. The treble extension is well controlled to provide a non-fatiguing listening experience. 4+2 delivers expansive headroom, high fidelity with extreme dynamic range and fast transient responses.

I purchased the Project 4+2 and am very pleased with the IEMs. The audio is natural neither warm or cool. The separation is exceptional. It expands into the existing surround sound by allowing sounds to be interpreted as three-dimensional with neither horizontal, nor vertical limitation.
It comes with 3 sound customizable sound filters (normal, Vokal, and bass)
The bass is powerful but not overwhelming nor does interfere with the mids or vocals. It completes the audio making the audio sound full without fatiguing your senses.
This IEM produces accurate sound allowing the audio/music to be heard as the producer intended. If you want an accurate IEM this is the IEM to go with.
Very good bass of isobaric woofer, and flat mid-high sound feels so comfortable, made me listening music hours without any fatigue or problems.
FIBAE technology make this receiver more useful, just plug in smartphone with 3.5 jack and can listen beautiful sounds. And with nice dac/amp, it’ll make you flying with notes.
Also, Bassflow module is very useful. It makes reasonable change on sound - especially in sub-bass and bass frequency area... anyway on positive side to me. (I love normal/bass mode)

Bassflow module + NOVA Driver + Isobaric woofer make sound more interesting ever. Headroom stage feature is like sphere, and Bass~Mid area sound is attractive enough.

If Later on I would like to get another pair Project 4+2 again, can I get them with my custom ear mold and/ or reshell?
